The focus of ESU 6 Speech-Language Pathologists and Language Resource Teachers is the communication abilities of students. SLPs and Language Resource Teachers do the following:
correct, improve or alleviate articulation, fluency, voice, language and swallowing impairments
promote the development, improvement and use of functional communication skills
provide support in the general educational environment to lessen the disability's social consequence by facilitating successful participation, socialization and learning
